Worst of all, its controller mapping and the 'glidiness' of its jumping mechanic often lead you to over-shooting your intended range of a jump, landing into a pit of spikes to flop back and forth rapidly losing health before dying and being warped back to the game's start and seemingly only respawn point. There doesn't seem to be much point to the game and no story is presented in ROGALIK to drive you to see further environments or characters, as neither are expounded upon and you just kind of get thrown into being some viking chic versus blob dudes all with the same name. You can double-jump, melee attack, and projectile attack, though why you would ever want to risk using the game's very low range melee attack and possibly clumsily run into one of the same blob enemies rather than comfortably kill them from a distance is beyond me. The enemies appear to have no attacks, instead either standing there stationary or "running into you over and over" until you die. ROGALIK's pixel graphics and music aren't bad and fit the genre well, but its incredibly shallow gameplay and lack of variety kill any interest I have in it.
